Funny trip to L&D

Jonathan and I finished our last parenting class Tuesday (5/20) and wanted to stop by and visit our friend who had her baby on Monday. We walk up the the nurses station and they asked me my name and asked me to sign in. I'm an idiot and think they make visitors do this, Jonathan catches on that they think I'm checking in to have the baby!

So we laugh and I explain that no, I'm not in labor and I'm just here to visit. The nurses all look shocked, ask when I'm due and again are shocked that I'm not there to have my baby. So...even the nurses think I'm about to pop my baby out at any moment.

As we left to see our friend, I said "I hope to see yall soon for the real thing!"

Baby girl update

Still no name...but baby girl is growing and doing well! At our last appt. we continued to measure ahead so doc has ordered a growth ultrasound. I can't wait to see her again!!!!! Jonathan and I were both long babies...SO I'm hoping she's BIG in the length and not in the weight!

Those who see me in person are always shocked at how much longer I have left b/c of the sheer size of my belly. She is poking straight out and I often wonder just how much bigger 1 baby can get! My mom keeps asking me if they're sure there's just one...sometimes I wonder the SAME thing!! At 32 weeks, my belly was measuring 48" around. Yep...I am now 4' around. NEVER thought I'd say that about myself!

Tomorrow we have our prenatal appt with baby girl's pediatrician. I'm a little nervous and weirded out by this. A pediatrician...it just keeps more and more real! :o)

OH and tomorrow, May 8th, I will be 34 weeks. Only 6 more weeks until my due date. It just doesn't seem possible!!! :o)

BIG milestone!!

Back in February I hit a big milestone. I've managed to keep a plant alive for 2 years!

Background:
I am SO bad at keeping plants alive, that I don't even have a 'thumb.' You hear of green thumbs and black thumbs, I'm no thumbs. I have managed to kill cactus and bamboo. Both VERY durable until left in my care.

So back in Feb of 06, a good friend of ours brought me a housewarming plant. I thought...poor think doesn't stand a chance.

Here we are over 2 years later and said plant is alive and well!! I'm honestly shocked!! I currently have 2 living plants in our house...I think the other is coming up on it's 2 year anniversary and it's doing really well. It still amazes me most days that they are both still living and when I see new little baby leaves, I get really excited!

Next step...Azaleas in the front yard. GULP. We'll see how this goes :o)

Car seat update!

Well we decided to go with the Graco Rittenhouse. It matches our stroller and hopefully will hide stains fairly well. I placed the order today...kinda weird and scary!!! :o)

Which car seat?!?!?!

There are4 car seats that I really like. All 4 are Graco. The Rittenhouse (black and white) matches our stroller BUT we don't really plan on using it with the stroller so it almost doesn't matter.

I of course LOVE the pink ones...I love the Rittenhouse too and the Platinum is just kinda practical. Help me decide!!!

Wall letter update

So here's what I have done so far:





I still have a lot of detail to put on there and the letters. Once we pick out the name, I can paint the letters...but I can go ahead and do the 'y' and 'l' :o)

Ideas for wall letters

So I want to paint her wall letters and here are some ideas. I will use different shades of pink and green with splashes of white. Haven't decided on a pattern yet. It will spell out her name...which we've narrowed down to 2 choices.  I'm thinking I'll get 6 little canvases...between the sizes of 5x7 and 8x10. Haven't decided yet but I can't wait to get started!!! :o)
